In Person Driver CPC Training

Quality Classroom Driver CPC Training

Driver CPC periodic training was introduced by the Government for all professional drivers, such as bus, coach and lorry drivers.  All professional Bus, Coach and Lorry drivers, operating a vehicle over 3.5t or any passenger carrying vehicle over 9 seats, must complete 35 hours of approved CPC periodic training within a five year rolling cycle to maintain their Driver Qualification Card (DQC).

We offer classroom-based, in-person Jaupt accredited Driver CPC courses for LGV and PCV qualified drivers. Our courses are designed and delivered by experienced drivers, for drivers. These courses are perfect if you want to return to driving or just need a top-up on your CPC Periodic training hours and keep you up to date with the latest legislation.

COVID 19 update: Please note that we are currently running all of our Driver CPC courses online until further notice. All our courses are suitable for online driver CPC training so there won’t be much difference, drivers will be in a virtual classroom instead!

FAQ's

What do I need to bring to my training session?

It is important that all delegates bring their driving licence each day, driver qualification card and their digi licence  (if applicable) if they have one. You do not need any paper/ pens to take notes, although you can do so if you wish.

Why use Pearson CPC for your training needs?

All our training is delivered by drivers for drivers. We have years of experience in both road haulage and passenger transport so we understand the realities that you face as a professional driver, every day. This is at the heart of all our courses and that is why we strive to ensure our training is engaging, practical and relatable so that you get the maximum benefit from the sessions.

We know that, for some, it has been a few years since you have been in a classroom environment so our customer service team is on hand to help with any questions you may have before you start. On the day, our trainers will quickly establish the class’s needs and adjust the training session to meet that need. By using humour, team spirit, competition and open debate, we ensure that the aim of each session is met. We encourage you to share your industry knowledge and you will always be treated as a professional driver.  To ensure that your records are kept up to date, as soon as you finish, we upload your hours to the DVSA on the same day.

What is the structure of the day for in-person Driver CPC courses?

We normally ask that delegates arrive at 08.00hrs for registration and start soon after.  We normally finish around 16.15 to 16.30 hrs.  The module lasts for 7 hours, plus tea and lunch breaks. Please be advised that if you arrive later than 08.30 hrs, you may be refused entry to the room, due to Jaupt requirements, and will not earn your hours for that day. Full details are given at the time of booking.
